PRIME ADVOGADOS organised the first Law and Economy Forum, an event that brought together representatives from the public and private sectors to discuss the challenges and opportunities of corporate governance in Angola. The event was featured on the National Radio of Angola and was attended by the Secretary of State for Labour, Pedro José Filipe, who underlined the Government’s commitment to consolidating deep reforms within the national business fabric.
During his address, Pedro José Filipe also highlighted the growing adherence of Angolan companies to the principles of ethics and compliance — factors which, according to the Secretary of State, are essential for building a solid and transparent corporate environment. He further acknowledged that, despite the progress achieved, challenges remain, particularly regarding informality and the need for greater regulation and oversight.
Emanuela Vunge, Managing Partner at PRIME ADVOGADOS, emphasised that the Angolan business landscape has been gaining structure and maturity, reflecting an increasing commitment to corporate governance. However, she warned of the regulatory risks that still persist and may undermine investor and market confidence.
The Forum, promoted by PRIME ADVOGADOS, aimed to create a space for reflection and knowledge-sharing among legal experts, economists and decision-makers, thereby contributing to strengthening the dialogue between Law and Economy within the Angolan context.
