PRIME Advogados advised on the signing of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the Quipungo Solar Photovoltaic Project (150 MW) in Angola, led by Masdar, one of the world’s leading clean energy companies.
The agreement secures the long-term offtake of electricity from the Quipungo project, marking Masdar’s first PPA in Angola and the first phase of Project Royal Sable, a 500 MW solar programme designed to strengthen Angola’s southern power grid and support the country’s energy transition goals.
The PPA was signed with Rede Nacional de Transporte de Electricidade (RNT-EP) on the sidelines of the IRENA General Assembly in Abu Dhabi, as part of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week. The signing ceremony was attended by Angola’s Minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges.
The PRIME Advogados team was led by Managing Partner Emanuela Vunge, and included Partner Djamila Pinto de Andrade and Senior Associate Katiana Neto Cordeiro.
