PRIME Advogados organised the first edition of the Law & Economy Forum and the launch of the PRIME Advogados Legal Excellence Award, which took place on 23 October at the EPIC SANA Hotel in Luanda.
The event brought together business leaders, legal professionals and academics for a discussion focused on investment opportunities and the role of decision-making architecture in business attractiveness.
Emanuela Vunge, Managing Partner at PRIME Advogados, opened the event, followed by a round table moderated by Ana Perestrelo de Oliveira, Of Counsel at VdA and Associate Professor with Habilitation at the Faculty of Law, University of Lisbon, featuring contributions from:

• Francisco Simão, Legal and Corporate Affairs Director at Azule Energy
• Natacha Barradas, Executive Director at Banco de Fomento Angola
• Diogo Costa Gonçalves, Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Lisbon
• Ana Filipa Morais Antunes, Professor at the Faculty of Law (Lisbon) of the Portuguese Catholic University
The occasion also marked the launch of the PRIME Legal Excellence Award, presented by João Manuel Lourenço, Partner at PRIME Advogados and Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law, Agostinho Neto University, and João Francisco, Professor at the Faculty of Law, Catholic University of Angola, and Director of its Legal Research Centre.
The session continued with an address by the Secretary of State for Labour and Social Security, Pedro José Filipe, representing Her Excellency the Minister of Public Administration, Labour and Social Security, whose presence greatly honoured the event.
The event concluded with closing remarks by João Vieira de Almeida, Senior Partner at VdA, who emphasised the importance of collaboration between the firms within the VdA Legal Partners network in promoting legal excellence and valuing talent.
